Kent has a long history of people coming to the county to pick fruit in the harvest time and the village of Lynsted was famous for its cherry orchards.
The owners, Louise and Terry, wanted to recreate for their guests the experience of staying in a 1940s styled cherry pickers cabin and have refurbished the old cabin to a very high standard without losing the authentic look and feel.
Situated in the grounds of The Old Thatched Cottage, The Cherry Pickers Cabin enjoys its own privacy overlooking the orchard and has its own south facing garden complete with BBQ fire pit and outside dinning, It is nestled in eight acres of private ground in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty on the edge of the Lyn Valley, and is surrounded by farmland with lots of footpaths. Ideally located, with the local train station just a ten-minute walk, it is just an hour and 20minutes from London.
The local village is well catered with many pubs, co-op, post office and Chinese and Fish and chip restaurants, pharmacy, veterinary surgery, stables and gift shop, all within easy walking distance.
